So I've been gainfully unemployed since about 2008. Seasonal work, some individual projects, but mostly nothing. The latest thing is Lyft. I signed up and jumped through the hoops and started driving. Kinda nerve-wracking at first, but I got more comfortable. You can make ok money without much effort. And we don't NEED much extra anyway.
But of course, I started to dread the social aspects of the job. It's really torture. I'd have to be high to tolerate interacting with strangers while under the stress of navigating Seattle's ridiculous streets. But I don't drive high. So that's not going to work... which is exactly what I've been doing. I keep telling myself I'll do it tomorrow. But I never do. Total failure of the job.
